|
04. oktober 2008
Today was the last day of the three day visit of the DOE engineers' delegation. They took tremendous interest in all the details of the new building particularly the earthquake safety measures. Satprem took a session with slide presentation on building with CSEB for disaster resistant construction.

After that we did the hands-on construction demonstration outdoors. A small wall was built on the site to show them the laying of the rammed earth foundation, the foundation beam and then the plinth beam cast in U-blocks. It was interesting to see very senior consultants and retired Chief Engineers working hands-on with rammers, blocks and mortar.

In the end the delegates seemed very happy and satisfied. We also gave all of them a CD with all literature and presentations related to this style of construction.
After returning to Kathmandu the group will prepare a report for the government regarding adopting this technology for Nepal's 50,000 classroom project.
