Farewell
A love affair with Uganda set to continue
Søren Foged Christensen has left MS-Uganda after more than four years of dedicated service.
Two catchwords to describe one of Søren’s contributions to the programme could be carpentry networking. Soeren has very much spearheaded the carpentry networking among MS-Uganda partners.
During his four years Soeren found himself working with three different partners – Nyabyeya Forest College, Gulu Community Vocational School and Hoima Nursery Schools Development Association. Job descriptions have varied: technical advisor, production and marketing advisor, and business advisor. Yet with all partners Søren has been using his skills as a carpenter and a building technician.
In the private sphere fortune has also smiled on Søren in Uganda. He married Rose from Masindi, and last year in April he became a salongo – father of twins. Together with Rose and the abarongo – Maria and Marcus, Søren has settled down in Fort Portal. Here he has been employed by the Austrian NGO Horizon 3000 to fill the job as principal of St. Joseph’s Vocational Institute.
We wish Søren and his family all the best in Fort Portal, hoping that they will find the time to visit old friends and colleagues in Uganda. (fh)
