Registration for Global Change February-May 2010

The registration deadline for non-Danish citizens is January the 4th 2010.

It’s not a formal requirement to have certain specific formal qualifications, such as an academic education or particular job-profile to join the education. However, the education does involve both intensive tools-training as well as more abstract and theoretical training. Therefore applicants should have a certain amount of familiarity with abstract thinking, analysis and work, even when its not gained through formal degrees.

Furthermore, it’s really important that you’re ready for 110% active and committed participation. So please spend time specifying your motivation in your application.

When we select the applicants to join the Global Change education, we look at

• We aim to combine highly qualified training and concerted work for social change and any prior experienced in this field is highly valued. In general, this could be experience with social and political engagements as either volunteer, activist, social entrepreneur, campaigner or organizer.
• You might have gained such experience from studies, from volunteering or from working in various civil society contexts. Direct work in MS Action Aid and/or Action Aid partners is highly valued.
• Since the course deals with the concepts of climate justice and the effects of climate change on the global South, we are in particular looking for participants who come from countries or regions having experienced the effects of climate change – although this is not a precondition for participation
• We do take your educational background into consideration as well.
• We aim for an equal gender balance.
• We aim for as diverse a mix of nationalities as possible.

The Danish visa regime can be difficult and the visa authorities only admit individuals who are affiliated with a sending organization/NGO. Please enclose a scan of signed letter of support from your organization in a separate email to globalchange@ms.dk. Read more about getting a Danish visa.
