PAC elected at annual meeting
By Janne Bruvoll, information officer, MS Sudan21. May 2009
At the annual meeting in February 2009, the partners of MS Sudan elected the MS Sudan Policy Advisory Council (PAC). Prior to the annual meeting, an interim PAC had met on a regular basis but the annual meeting allowed for the first time all partners to participate in the election of the PAC.
PAC consists of representatives from partner organisations and development workers as well as independent members and its task is to guide the MS Sudan management in relation to the overall policy and strategy of the programme.
The MS Sudan PAC members are:
Partner members
Eiyo Margaret, NSEA
Sarah Kiden, CEP
Sokiri Steven Samuel, Kajo Keji Resource Centre
Development workers
Camilla Ankerstjerne, training advisor, MS Sudan
Janne Bruvoll, information officer, MS Sudan
Peter Tholstrup, democracy & advocacy advisor, MS Sudan
Independent members
Amule Felix, Yei River County (chairman)
John Lomude, BA Development Studies
Abugo Charles Guya, Yei Day Secondary School
Lars Anderskouv, director of MS Sudan, is the secretary. All members are elected for a two year term.
PAC had its first meeting 14 March 2009, in which Amule Felix, education director at Yei River County, was elected chairman. At the meeting, PAC discussed the training needs of the partners, methods in civic education and the MS Sudan annual meeting.
The next PAC meeting will be 12-13 June 2009.
