Green Bright Youth is a climate innovation camp, arranged as a joint cooperation between Danfoss University and MS ActionAid Denmark – lasting four days starting August 8th. The camp will gather 500 young people from 45 countries who will develop and present their solutions to climate change and global warming – with the aim to influence and inspire the political world leaders when they meet in Copenhagen later this year.

His Royal highness, crown prince Frederik, has accepted to attend the opening ceremony – which is seen as a blueprint. "We're happy and proud about his decision and regard it as an approval of the arrangement", says Charlotte Sahl-Madsen, chairman of the project group arranging the camp and also MD of Danfoss Universe.

The camp will be arranged on the young people's own terms, involving an interactive and up-to-date form including the use of new media – enabling the participants to create ideas for products and services that meet the challenges from climate change and global warming.

"One of the purposes behind arranging the camp is also to mobilise responsibility and leadership among young people, so that they are prepared and competent to take the initiative themselves regarding climate change in the future", says Vibeke Vinther, head of communication in MS ActionAid Denmark.

The participants have been recruited through different channels – MS ActionAid Denmark ensuring participation from developing countries in the South. MS ActionAid Denmark is also in charge of training youth leaders who will lead camp – based on the organisation's long-term experience from training international work-camp leaders.
