Karibu Adrian Nzamba!
From Dar to København to Jylland to hitchhiking as a climate detective
|
17. august 2009
His name is Adrian Rogatus Nzamba and he is 21 years old. He is Tanzanian, born in Dar es Salaam, where he also lives.
However, from 6 August 2009 Adrian is attending 'Bright green Youth' (BGY) and 'Tackling Climate Responsibly' (TCR) along with the 'New Communicator Course' in Denmark. This means that he will be living in Denmark for about 4-6 months.
Adrian is into learning about new cultures and understanding the dynamics of globalisation. Most of all, he is into making the world a better place for all people of different races and backgrounds.
Adrian volunteered on the Children Show in 2001, advanced to become a presenter in 2002, and lastly, was the radio producer from 2002 to 2005. In 2007 he joined Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC), where he is working with Communication Officer and IT. Currently he is also one of the facilitators of the Youth Platforms, a programme organised by TYC and funded by MS Tanzania ActionAid Denmark (MSTZAADK).
Adrian is on the way to college, but has attended different trainings such as media engagement in advocacy, communication skills and barriers, research methodology, citizen journalism and radio presenting and programming.
'I think the issues of climate and ways of making the world a better place to all of us is what made me apply in the first place. In general, I would like other youth to benefit from the knowledge that I will be able to attain. Finally, I want to learn more from other participants, as I believe they will teach me through their experience from their respectively countries as well,' Adrian says.
While Adrian usually works for Tanzania Youth Coaliation (TYC) in Dar es Salaam, which is a partner with MS Tanzania ActionAid Denmark (MSTZAADK), he is free to speak his mind on this blog with regards to his personal and professional experience gathered during his stay in Denmark. Obviously, he will one way or the other be representing both organisations, so to speak, but Adrian's viewpoints on this blog should not necessarily be taken as representative of either TYC or MSTZAADK.
