How does climate change affect your life?
The city I live in, Beijing, has been apparently affected by climate change. In recent years, the temperature in summer, which is above 40℃ sometimes, is much higher than years before. So I have to reduce my time out of doors and bring a sun umbrella when I am out.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
For me, climate responsibility at least means two things. One is the responsebility to act which means I have the responsibility to take some real actions, like reduce overuse of electricity, use environment-friendly energy, plant more trees, etc. The other one is to spread the awareness of climate change. Only if more and more people join in the group, the problem can be solved.

How does climate change affect your life?
I have spent the last four years in Beijing which locates in the north of China, and I obviously feel that the winter here is getting warmer and warmer. Moreover, extreme weather conditions become more frequent.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
For me, climate responsibility  means everyone in the world should make contributions to prevent climate change, because we share the same world. Unless all countries work together immediately, we might lose this battle against climate change. At the same time, we should consider the abilities of less developed countries and  take good care of the vulnerable people.

How does climate change affect your life?
Climate change has led to drought which has resulted into poor food supplies in my community hence I cannot get access to enough food and water   in my daily life. I therefore have to survive to live. I no longer carry out my activities effectively because of lack of enough energy.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
Climate responsibility is identifying the problems posed by the climate change and finding solutions to the problems through individual, national and international collaboration. Climate responsibility is also the single biggest issue facing the world today and is not just an environmental problem but one with severe socio-economic impacts. It therefore qualifies as a challenge and an opportunity that confronts every one of us to act and save the planet from the global climate change saga.

How does climate change affect your life?
Well basically agriculture is the many food source in our country and lately we have been having a different rain pattern that is harming the sector and it has greatly contributed to the increase in food prices and that affects the normal up keep of the household budget. the change in the weather has really caused a major shift in seasons where some warm months are becoming very warmer increasing the rate of some diseases.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
It means I have the right  and obligation to  safe guard the environment using any peaceful means through education and  awareness programmes, but most importantly it means I have the responsibility not to contribute to the climate change by using friendly and renewable resources and to reduce in the use of  resources that contribute to climate change.

How does climate change affect your life?
Poor people of poorer countries are more affected by the adverse impacts of climate change. Lack of adequate infrastructure, economic conditions and livelihoods based on Natural resources have made the people of poorer nations like us, more difficult to adapt or cope to the changing climate. Due to the changing climatic phenomenon, we had no rainfall this last winter, which led to the huge scarcity of water and adversely affected the winter crops. Due to which, the price of vegetables and other food has increased by three folds. The most embarrassing thing was that, we left with 18 hours of power cut each day, due to the significant reduction on the discharge of river and loss of water in the reservoir. Almost 80 % of electricity in Nepal is generated from the hydropower. The significant retreat of glaciers has directly affected the availability of freshwater and its ecosystem. The formation of glaciers lakes and its increasing volume has posed the threats to inhabitants living in downstream. The changing monsoon pattern and uncertain monsoon variability has directly affected the agricultural sector.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
To combat this global changing climate, each individual, community and country has their own responsibility. Reducing carbon footprint of their own or help others to reduce their GHG emission and promoting sustainable development is the only solutions for emerging climate crisis. Developed and industrialized countries have their historical responsibilities to reduce their GHGs emission and stabilized the level of GHGs in the atmosphere that doesn’t create the climate instability. Kyoto Protocol also emphasized to take account on their common but differentiate responsibility to achieve our common goals on stabilizing the level of GHGs. Thus the developed and industrialized countries have a climate responsibility of reducing their carbon emissions and supporting developing and most vulnerable countries to mitigate and adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change with the help of both technical and financial support. Similarly developing and under-developing countries like Nepal has responsibilities to mitigate and assist mitigating the GHGs emission of developed countries and to move towards the path of sustainable development.I as an individual and youth have a wider responsibility to mitigate the emission of GHGs and to make a better world to live in peace and harmony with environment. Hence a possible response from my side is to recognize the responsibility of for my own contribution and to minimise the personal consumption.

How does climate change affect your life?
Life means environment, climate, when I wake up every morning without pollution (air, water ), I will start my job well.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
That means to save the climate from any of pollution around starting with my self  to the other like my friend , family in deferent way like training , project , a wariness, and to learn others how we make the environment better.

How does climate change affect your life?
India is an agrarian economy and is largely rain fed. Any fluctuations in the climatic patterns are disastrous for food security. Mumbai has been flooded due to excessive rain in short periods for the last five years but overall rain fall has fallen leading to depletion of ground water, this leads the huge city to suck resources from the already poor surroundings.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
It means important individual acts like responsible disposal of waste, usage of clean and less energy and materials; but also more importantly a realisation of a need for larger community/ state effort to genuinely reduce the carbon footprint .It is also important to realise the broader picture of the effects of climate change on the worlds poor who are least responsible for the problem but ironically the most vulnerable to its worst effects.

How does climate change affect your life?
Well, in Mozambique when it rains many streets become inaccessible because of its intensity. Because of the melting of the glacial ices which lead to rise in the level of the sea the beach area in my city is getting smaller and it is swallowing part of the road making it dangerous to drive around there. Our winters are disappearing because of global warming making even the winter quite warm.In summer is hard to work during the day because the weather is increasing constantly reaching temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius on a regular basis.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
It means that you think about the consequences of some actions that can damage the environment and ultimately cause climate changes. It can also mean that you take care of the environment by using environmental friendly products for example.

How does climate change affect your life?
Climate change is affecting Nepal very severely though its global share of green house gas emission is only 0.025%. It is one of the countries in the world that is facing the impact very severely and quickly. Climate change is affecting my day to day life. We used to have monsoon rainfall from June 10, but this year due to impact of climate change we had monsoon rainfall two weeks later. We depend on the monsoon rainfall for growing paddy but due to scanty rainfall in monsoon, agriculture is being badly affected with the chances of food insecurity this year in the country. There was increase in temperature this year in comparison to the previous year. The days were much hotter than previous years, with the increase in number of mosquitoes and chances of spreading  mosquito related diseases like malaria, Japanese encephalitis, dengue etc.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
Climate responsibility for me means to act for climate change for my and the global future. I do have direct and indirect climate responsibility. Direct climate responsibility is to reduce my carbon footprint and create awareness on climate change to the citizen of my country and pressure large green house gas emitting countries to lower their emission and sign the climate deal in Copenhagen. My indirect climate responsibility is to aware my friends, family and peer to be aware on climate change and live eco friendly life.

How does climate change affect your life?
A perfect example is the change in our weather. Our climate is very different now. The rainy season hasn’t been that constant and it has been very hot. That affects the agriculture, especially corn in our country. The hot weather makes some day intolerable. The devastation of our soils also has turned them impermeable. The effluents can take away lots of houses and lots of lives with them.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
To be aware that every action has a repercussion in the environment. Climate responsibility is to know that our every day actions have an impact here and now and for the future generations to come, it also means to take measures to improve our future perspectives.

Sarah F. Ahmad; 22; Bangladesh
How does climate change affect your life?
Bangladesh feels the brunt of climate change, being a deltaic country. Not only have our rainfall patterns changed, we're being plagued by serious storms and cyclones every year and floods and droughts as well. Our rainfall patterns are changing, because of floods and draughts, our agricultural sector has been hit bad. The hot summer puts a pressure on our already overstrained power sector, thus the power-cuts end up adversely affecting our economy. And to make matters worse, the cyclones every year cause millions of dollars worth of damage, which puts even more strain on the economy and we feel it in our everyday lives through power-cuts, hot summers, flooded streets, through rising prices of goods, through an influx of beggars into the streets, because more people are rendered homeless by storms every year.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
Climate responsibility means; not sitting around and waiting for someone else to solve the problem. We owe it to ourselves and our future generations to conserve our resources and to try and reverse some of the damage. Each one of us can make a difference by bringing some simple life-style changes like not wasting water or electricity, recycling, re-using and reducing the use of fossil fuels and aerosols and also by using environment friendly products. The key is in being aware and proactive.

Paroj Banerjee; 22; India
How does climate change affect your life?
I come from India. One very obvious way in which climate change has affected me is by a massive change in weather conditions. The city that I grew up in, Kolkata, has lost its winter. The temperatures in summer have been soaring. For the past five years the temperatures in summer have been created a record, each year recording higher than the previous. Currently I am based in Mumbai which receives erratic rainfall and experiences heavy flooding. It makes life very difficult.
What does climate responsibility mean to you?
First and foremost climate responsibility according to me is to be really concerned about what is happening locally as well as globally in the environment. For instance one must recognize that the changes that are taking place is because of a greater problem and not consider it as a random occurring in the weather.  Further it means creating awareness among people who are not aware of such problems. Climate responsibility is about making changes in the lifestyle patterns and seeking for an alternative culture: a culture that is sustainable and clean.
