45% of partner grants for 2009 disbursed
MS Sudan encourages partners to always keep their accounts up-to-date so that all disbursements can be accounted for.
By Ale Alex, accountant at MS SudanDespite the problems due to the collapse of Nile Commercial Bank earlier this year, MS Sudan has so far disbursed 45 percent of the partner grants for 2009. However, only 14 percent of the disbursements have been accounted for. It requires a true commitment from all partners to make sure that their accounts are kept up-to-date and that proper documentation is secured from all activities. Only in this way will the partners’ programmes be truly transparent and this is not only important for MS Sudan but also for the beneficiaries. If the accounts are not kept up-to-date, future grant disbursements will be delayed.
