Before and during the climate summit COP15 in December, MS – as part of our international network ActionAid – will be conducting a huge campaign with the headline "Rich Countries - Pay Your Climate Debt".

This campign is carried out by the Climate Debt Agents. The Climate Debt Agents' mission is to ensure that rich countries pay their climate debt to the poor countries. The rich countries are responsible for climate change and the fatal consequences this has for the world's poor. Therefore, rich countries have a debt to pay.

The rich countries are not facing their climate debt - so there is constant need for them to be reminded of it. If the rich countries don't pay their climate debt, there will be no agreement in Copenhagen.

Thus, the Climate Debt Agents' mission is to ensure that rich countries pay their climate debt. They do this by  being constantly visible, reminding the rich countries that they are being watched. Previously, the rich countries have not lived up to their promises of financial support to world's poor - the agents must ensure that this does not happen again.

As shown in the picture, the Climate Debt Agents are dressed entirely in red and is very visible. This situation is from a very succesfull event in Brussels on 29 October. We have the disposal of 50 agents costumes, to be utilized with maximum visibility during the summit. As an example, our agents dressed in red will stand in front of the Bella Center where the negotiators and politicians meet, we will participate in the huge demonstration on 12th of December and we will also be present in the DGI city during the NGO Summit.
