Siavonga Remembered

By Nchimunya Chiyombwe

Indeed, it wasn’t just a meeting without memories to carry along. A number of participants carried thoughts that made them either smile or giggle to themselves as they thought about them. For partners that came along to Siavonga, some the following sentiments will draw a nod or perhaps a smile and more surely a “Yes, I remember that!”

Just what memories did partners carry along?

Mr. Posten Banda of Chadiza said “ the fact that we lived in harmony without anyone been seen to be a “boss’. I had a good time on the boat during the boat cruise, as it was the first time I was on the boat.”

Mr Chiam Patel of Mansa District farmers said, “Wasn’t the view of lake and the mountains beautiful as we took our meals? It is something I will always remember.”

Despite the busy schedule, one of the Journalists Delphine Hampande said, “I don’t even have to scratch my head over what I enjoyed, it is the boat cruise! The atmosphere in there, where everybody was talking and laughing, as we moved in the boat was so relaxing. Hey, they served Kapenta as well!”

Besinati Mpepo of CSPR, “Hmm, I think Naazo!” A slogan developed by the facilitator.

Glory Mushinge, another Journalist, “Ha, ha! Had a swim in the pool when everyone else was asleep. I liked it.”

Allimakio Zulu of Wildlife Conservation Society, “The social evening was wonderful. Everyone danced around the pool, and I mean everyone from the International Director, to the maids carried along by the participants. Interaction at its best!”

Mr Mboloma of Mansa farmers Association, “ The training itself, with our inspiring facilitator, Naazoo!!”

Indeed as we carry these memories home, let us not forget the contents of the Communication for Empowerment tool kit.
