Community Education Action Programme (CEAP) is an indigenous non-governmental organisation formed in 1999 by members of the community in Yei River County to promote awareness and encourage effective participation of the local community in the rehabilitation and development of Southern Sudan.

Objectives

• Provide civic education through print media
• Increase community access to public information and build trust in civil society organisations and media through a local media network
• Increase the sense of ownership of process and outcomes in governance through civic participation 
• Create awareness on child protection and rights
• Increase awareness on sustainable environmental conservation

Activities

• Monthly production and distribution of the Maruba Newsletter covering Yei River, Morobo and Lainya Counties
• Supporting and facilitating a media network covering Yei River, Morobo and Lainya Counties
• Civic education activities focusing on the CPA, human rights, democracy and good governance, gender awareness and domestic violence
• Child rights protection and health promotion
• Environmental conservation
