Objectives

  • Establish an information centre that provides community access to public information
  • Promote community participation and ownership of processes and outcomes
  • Advocate for community needs and concerns with local government and like-minded institutions and organisations
  • Act as a network of existing educational efforts e.g. clubs, groups, religious institutions and individuals to encourage participation in governance

Rubeke Community Resource Centre was founded in 1999 after a needs assessment conducted by the community and students from Denmark. In the beginning, the centre was supported by Operation a Day's Work and MS Uganda in partnership with NSEA. Today, Rubeke Community Resource Centre is an independent civil society organisation.
