Newsletter for MS-Tanzania

For MS partners and development workers in Tanzania .

February 2004

Editor: Information worker Michael Bech
Editor-in-chief: Director Finn Petersen

Rainy days are back again

Sorry we’re late! The editor has been away, and now it’s good to be back! One week in Denmark at this time of year is no fun. Landing in Copenhagen airport to 11 degrees C MINUS after leaving humid Dar es Salaam and at least 35 degrees PLUS. So it’s nice to be back in Tanzania .

Apart from that, the meetings in MS-Denmark were good. The group of information workers from all over the MS-World was gathered for one week discussing visibility (or the lack of it…), new branding and image for MS and getting across with news or development stories from the South in Danish media.

A lot of recommendations were made at the meetings, where the general secretary Lars Udsholt and chief of communication, Henrik Vinther, also joined in. The meeting found it vital to be more present in the Danish media with stories from South. In order to be able to achieve that, it will be recommended that the partner- and CO-activities for information workers will be reduced and that more people are employed in the communication unit in MS-DK.

Hopefully a more visible MS-image, a cleaning-up in the many diversified MS-signals and more stories on the partner activities around us, will convince the donors in Denmark that MS is actually doing valuable work for the money….
