Some had prepared banners, others came with nothing but quickly managed to make posters, and most had simple brochures to hand out. After the annual meeting in February, the MS Sudan partners were asked to take part in a civil society marketplace in which they were expected to present themselves to fellow organisations and donors. The so-called marketplace was held in Kegulu Centre and several organisations from Yei town came to see it.

“I have met some new organisations here that I did not know existed in this area,” Joshua Manikese, who is a field coordinator at HealthNet TPO, said after visiting the marketplace.

Also Mercy Corps participated.

“I visited all the people standing there and they are all able to present themselves. A few of them I have never seen before so that was interesting and I also got some flyers with information about some of the organisations to bring home to the office. That is very good,” said Brown Thursday, who is an outreach officer at Mercy Corps.

Also the Democracy Bus visited Kegulu and entertained the audience with puppetry, information stands and competitions.
