In February and March 2010, two Danish volunteers travelled on the Democracy Bus. Aja and Andrea share their thoughts after spending six weeks in Southern Sudan.

We have really enjoyed our time in Southern Sudan and been very happy working with the Democracy Bus and with MS Sudan.

We have felt very welcome by everyone involved in the Democracy Bus and Yei Community Resource Centre where we have lived the past six weeks. And this time leading up to the elections in April has been a very important and interesting period to visit Sudan.

It has been exciting and fascinating working with the 30 very committed volunteers who have worked hard to make the Democracy Bus a success. The Democracy Bus has reached more than 7,500 people and we have experienced that there is a great need and a great interest for information about democracy and the elections.

We want to thank MS Sudan and everyone involved in the Democracy Bus project for letting us be part of this and we both hope that we will be able to return to Southern Sudan in the future.
