In cooperation with local partners in Zarqa MS ActionAid focuses on promoting young people’s participation in civil society and local decision-making. To do so, the program in Jordan consists of three elements, one of which is to mobilize the youth. Another element is to give the youth possibilities to express themselves and to engage them in positive change. Last but not least, concurrently MS ActionAid, along with the local partner Al Thoria Centre, work at creating receptiveness among municipality members, to make them acknowledge the voice of the youth.
The involvement of the youth in society is valuable: ”It’s an important part of the decentralization strategy to prepare the youth to participate in elections.” as Musa Maayta, the Minister of Political Development, announced. The Minister participated in the launch alongside MS ActionAid’s local partners, the Mayor of Zarqa; Muhammed Mousa Al Ghwari and member of the municipality and head of the development section in Zarqa; Mohammad Al Zawahrah.
