"ActionAid Kenya is delighted to partner with ActionAid Denmark and Women for Influence on the initiative we are embarking on to strengthen the influence women have at local level in development decision-making and the realization of their human rights. This initiative is firmly anchored by our ongoing work with vibrant movements of women working in solidarity for social change at both local and national level. Additionally  we have made a deliberate decision to target young women at local county level in the under 25 age group who have great potential to transform their own lives and those of their communities - we will partner with them to tap into this potential through personal, political and economic empowerment.

All this takes place in the context of a new constitutional dispensation in Kenya that provides invaluable opportunities for women's empowerment and equal participation  at all levels of decision making. This partnership could not have come at a better time bearing in mind the work that lies ahead for us in making the progressive constitutional provisions a reality for women in poor and marginalized communities.

We are proud to be associated with Women for Influence with whom we share a common belief in the power of women from different spheres of life coming together to pull both material and non-material resources to benefit other women and their communities. We value this strong model of solidarity and look forward to a successful partnership. "
