About us
MS (Danish Association for International Cooperation) has worked in Nepal since 1986, mainly through partnerships with local organisations. Currently MS is in the process of building a focus on democracy world wide.
In Nepal we mainly concentrate on the following democracy themes:
Building local democracy: Strengthening the political representation of the poor and marginalised, women and youth. And strengthening good local governance.
Land Rights: Mainly assisting former debt slaves in achieving titles to land.
Conflict management and peace building.
MS in Nepal currently works with 21 partners in 8 districts (Palpa, Kabilvastu, Banke, Bardiya, Rupandehi, Syangya, Kailali and Doti). MS Nepal has 17 Danish development workers and 1 South Development Worker. The head office in Kathmandu has 20 local staff, among others 7 programme staff who works with our partnerships and with special issues such as information, advocacy, security and training.
