Newsletter December 2005

A year of change

Seasons Greetings to all of you.

MS Denmark and MS Tanzania are undergoing processes of changes. The new year of 2006 will see some changes in the way MS Tanzania will be working.

The changes are in response to the quite dramatic reforms of MS policies and strategies ongoing in MS Denmark. The MS Denmark Board has approved a new focus and a new organizational structure to be presented to an extraordinary General Assembly will be held on January 29th  In Tanzania the PAB on the 7th of December discussed proposals for how MS Tanzania shall respond to the new challenges. Please refer to the comments below from the Director.

As you are all aware Tanzania will be entering 2006 with a new government following elections on December 14th. We are looking forward to work with the new authorities at both national and local government levels and will together with our partners engage actively with the new government in combating poverty in all its many aspects.

News from the Director

As mentioned above the PAB on December 7th approved in principle a proposal for adjusting strategies and operational modalities of MS Tanzania. All partners will receive the full proposal well in time for further deliberations at our Annual Meeting in February (16 -18) at TCDC

A new administrator has been recruited. Mr. Mikkel Hauschildt will take up the position with immediate effect. Mikkel is well known to most of you and the CO is welcoming Mikkel to his new position.

Invitation to the editorial group

An editorial group for Habari za Tanzania has now been formed with members from three partners.

The first training session and planning meeting will take place the 10th of January at country office.

But we still have room for more participants. Group members only promise to dedicate some of their time to produce a good partner magazine for all of us.

Please contact Lisbeth@mstan.or.tz if you want to join us.

DW leaving

Hans-Jacob Hausmann has ended his contract with Naramatisho as cooperative advisor. He has signed a new contract with the Danish Red Cross.

CO closing for Christmas holiday

Please be informed that the CO office will close on Thursday December 22nd at 1 pm and will remain closed until Monday January 2nd 2006. Both the Director and the Administrator will be in the country over the holiday – and may be contacted if needs arises.
