Democracy - your handbook (text version)

The text version of "Democracy - your handbook" aims at creating awareness of what democracy is and how it relates with human rights. It focuses on the role an individual can play in developing his or her society and how people can react to the different challenges to good governance at family, community, organisation and government level. It emphasizes that democracy is something we live every day in our relationship with others.

The second edition published in 2006 has been reviewed in collaboration with consultants from ULGA and NCDC and representatives from all levels of society, e.g. pupils, teachers, facilitators of local government training and civil society organisations.
