Young people meet to talk about life
Coffeee Bar Ministry, part of the youth program run by MS Kenya partner St. John’s Community Centre is popular among the youth.
By Morten Pedersen09. July 2007
Every week about 30 young people gather in village Majengo in the Pumwani slums to discuss issues such as relationship and marriage, politics, role of youth in church and globalization.
Due to its popularity among the youth, Coffee Bar has now been established in Kiambiu, another Pumwani village. Here too, around 30 young people gather weekly.
With funding from MS Kenya Coffee Bar volunteers have been trained on good governance and are now streamlining the organization working on a constitution, setting up a board and subcommittees to take care of the daily business.
On the video Nelson Masiga, who is one of the conveners behind establishing Coffee Bar in Kiambiu, explains about the idea.
