Journalist Exchange Program 2007

Four Ugandan and four Danish journalists got a change to visit each others home countries and exchange views, ideas and working methods while studying the democracy in Denmark and Uganda.

Four Ugandan and four Danish journalist participated in the in the Ugandan-Danish journalist exchange program 2007 The theme of the program was Democracy in Uganda and Denmark and the eight journalists got the change to visit each others home countries and exchange views, ideas and working methods while studying the democracy in Denmark and Uganda.

The idea behind the program was partly to communicate democratic practices and values in Uganda and Denmark via the mass media of the two countries partly to establish direct contact and working relations among Danish and Ugandan media houses and individual journalists.

From Uganda the participants were; Marion Alina (WBS), Frank Nyakairu (Daily Monitor) Felix Osike (New Vision) Carolyn Nakazibwe (The Weekly Observer).

From Denmark the participating journalist were; Jeppe Krogager (TV2 News) Katrine Birkedal (Sygeplejesken, Sanne Nyland (Urban) og Simon Ankjaergaard (Oesterbro Bladet).

The Danish journalists were in Uganda June 17th - 24th. The Ugandan journalist visited Denmark June 29th – July 8th.

 

The Ugandan-Danish Journalist Exchange Program 2007 was initiated and arranged by MS – Danish Association for International Cooperation and supported by the Human Rights and Good Governance Programme – Danida. We especially wish to thank the Ugandan Embassy in Denmark, the Danish Embassy in Uganda and the participating media houses in the two countries for their keen interest in the program and open and frank collaboration.
