Abdul er fra Ugandan Break Dance Project og del af kampagnen Together We Can i Uganda.

The Break Dance Project Uganda began in February 2006 and the most senior participants are in their early or mid twenties. The group uses break dance and other elements of hip hop for positive social change, and as if it was a magnet it attracts young people from different ethnic, religious and social groups.

In Kampala the group arranges free of charge break dance classes twice a week at Sharing Youth Centre and the senior members pay regular visits to teach in Gulu and Mbale. Naguru Remand Home (juvenile prison) and selected international schools are also among the beneficiaries of Break Dance Project Uganda.

The motto of the group is “Everyone in Break Dance Project Uganda has a self-engaging responsibility as a student but also as a teacher”. In practical terms this means that it does not take many month before a dancer find him- or herself teaching the beginners.
