Sudan: MS' partner organisations
Below are the southern Sudan MS partners involved in development and capacity building activities
NSEA – Needs Service Education Agency was founded in 1994 by Sudanese affected by the civil war. NSEA supports formal and general education programmes in southern Sudan. NSEA develops teaching and learning materials. It also runs four library resource centres in Nimule, Kakjokeji, Rumbeki and Yei in southern Sudan.
EAA – Education Access Africa promotes education for Sudanese living in Northern Uganda. EAA runs library resource centres in Adjumani, Arua and Moyo. It also runs a printing press in Arua.
NESSA – New Sudan Students Association was founded in 2000 by Sudanese students in exile in Uganda. NESSA focuses on nationalism and self-reliance through voluntary teaching in primary and secondary schools, intercultural activities like exchange visits and workcamps. NESSA also promotes health awareness programmes and sports activities.
IPCS – The Institute for the Promotion of Civil Society was founded in 1999 for facilitating a better civil society in southern Sudan through thematic training of leaders and other key members of organisations and through public enlightenment programmes. IPCS focuses on participatory development, good governance, organisational capacity building, peace building and research.
MCDF – Mugwo Community Development Forum is a community based organisation. It focuses at restoring hope and teaching Mugwo community members to be self-reliant. MCDF promotes agricultural methods and health awareness.
CEAP – Community Education Action Programme is a community based organisation in Yei county. It focuses on promoting democracy, peace building, gender balance, and environment protection. CEAP organises training of trainers cources and publiches a newsletter. (kj)
