Our workplace

We work in offices and on the streets!

We organize and demonstrate on the streets with our political campaign team, and we operate in offices where we plan, prepare and assess our work.

We are a hybrid workplace, which maximizes our availability, and is of great benefit to our international partners and our colleagues who work from home.

In-house meetings

We conduct monthly in-house meetings with presentations and ambitious planning.

The monthly meetings serve as an open forum for free discussion, where we engage with each other across the organization and get updates from activists around the world on the front lines.

Lunch

Lunch features hot vegetarian dishes from our green world cuisine.

We gather around long tables in the spacious canteen and discuss upcoming actions, share stories from our lives and more. Lunchtime is always a source of new inspiration.

The courtyard

We are not at our desks from 8 to 4 every day.

We conduct meetings outside in our green courtyard, as well as one-on-one walk talks through our neighbourhood. In our courtyard we make giant banners for our coming campaigns in Kenya or in Brøndby Strand.

The atmosphere

Our global offices and our historic location on Fælledvej are full of activity and atmosphere.

We house ambitious student movements, travelers, volunteers and political advocates from around the world in our café and hostel as well as our global offices.

Diversity

We see diversity as a strength and want to be representative of the society we work in.

Your development in an international NGO

At ActionAid Denmark we will invest in you.

As a part of our collective agreement, we focus on ensuring a good development journey for our employees and offer 5 weeks of professional leave spread over your employment, job rotation and skills development funds.

We earmark funds for our competency and career development programs, which are allocated to many of our colleagues year-round. We do this because we want to ensure the development of AADK and of you.

Andreas, Programme Officer

In ActionAid DK we dare to be political and stand out in a debate. This is a very distinct part of our culture. Everyone gets an opportunity to raise their voice and the employees dare to challenge and discuss decisions made by the management team.

Mikkel, Global Platform Coordinator

My work gives me meaning. If I one day end up somewhere else than ActionAid, I think I would miss just that. So even though it becomes everyday life for us, I can still feel that what I do makes sense.

Maja, Head of Campaign, Communication & Policy i Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke

Maja, Head of Campaign, Communication & Policy

I think we are good at working across teams in ActionAid DK because we have so many different professional profiles. We have different goals across the organisation, and I really like working like that.

Berhan, Finance Controller

I think it’s great to be part of an organisation focused on development work in important areas. At the same time, I get the opportunity to visit these countries and see for myself how we use the funds.
